Bob Gilbertson encountered big time problems during his third qualifying attempt Saturday in Gainesville. "I was trucking along pretty good and it just went boom, and I had a little fire so I pulled the bottles," said Gilbertson, who had no indication that the motor was ready to let go.

"I had some G's and I was pulling along and it just exploded. We pulled the other body out, I'm not sure, but that would be kind of cool. It's kind of crazy but it looks good."

Gilbertson's other body is the one that he uses when he runs on the IHRA tour. He returned with the spare body and jumped into the show with a 4.81.
