Scott Griffin confirmed that he will sit out the 2007 season despite making an announcement he would field a car with Scott Weis driving. Griffin cited the lack of available quality crew chiefs to be the deciding factor in his decision.

Griffin pointed out that he has two brand new Brad Hadman dragsters ready to go in his North Carolina-based shop but losing Lance Larsen as his tuner played a major role in his decision. As Griffin pointed out, “Lance had the opportunity to go to a first-class operation and I didn’t want to hold him back.”

Griffin retains his Serta sponsorship on an associate sponsor level.

“I just felt it was best to park it until the right person crosses our path,” Griffin said.
