Nitro Funny Car racer Bob Gilbertson released an artist's conception of the new
paint scheme that will adorn his race car at all 12 of the IHRA Nitro Jam drag
racing series races for the 2007 season.
Gilbertson, who will once again race both the
NHRA and IHRA circuits this year, wanted to do something a little different for
the IHRA races and commissioned John Bell, who designed his popular "Jungle Jim"
tribute car that he campaigned last year, to come up with a wild new scheme that
will feature his company Trick Tank and the many associate sponsors who support
his Terminator Motorsports team.

"I really had a good time racing with the IHRA
last year and I wanted to give the rabid IHRA fans a wildly painted car that
they could root for and I think that John came up with something that will
really stand out on the track," Gilbertson said. "Autolite, Prestone, Fram,
Bendix and Garrett support my NHRA efforts but I'll be running the IHRA circuit
out of my own pocket this year and with the support of my major associate
sponsors; Aircat Pneumatic Tools, 10,000 RPM, Concept Haulers, Competition
Products and Red Line Oil and their Water Wetter product we're going to go
after the Torco Race Fuels Nitro Funny Car championship."
Gilbertson's team will also be supported by
Goodson Machine Tools, Hedman Hedders, A-1 Technologies, Mechanix Wear, Howards
Cams, JE Pistons, XRP Race Plumbing, Nitro Radios and Impact Racing
Products.
"Without these great companies behind us I
couldn't afford to race the IHRA and with their support we're going to launch an
all-out assault on the Torco Funny Car class for 2007," Gilbertson added.
"We'll debut the new car at the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals in San Antonio in
March and I'm confident it will be the coolest nitro Funny car out
there."
