CHILDREN 12-UNDER ADMITTED FREE TO NHRA ARIZONA NATIONALS

Recognizing the tough economic situation many Arizona families are currently facing, Firebird International Raceway and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) have announced youth 12-and-under can receive a free general admission ticket to the 2011 NHRA ArizonaNHRANats_4cArizona Nationals when accompanied by a paying adult.

Scheduled for Oct. 14-16th, the 2011 Arizona Nationals have long been considered a premier event on Arizona’s annual motor sports calendar.  This year’s race now enjoys even greater significance, joining NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship – a six-race playoff series playing a critical role in determining season points’ champions in all of NHRA’s top categories.

“Our fans have faithfully supported the Arizona Nationals for more than a quarter century,” Firebird Executive Vice President Franki Buckman said. “We’re delighted that we can make attending this year’s event a little easier for them.”

In addition to its new playoff status, the 2011 Arizona Nationals also features a new category of racing as competitors from NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle class compete at Firebird International Raceway for the first time ever.

For longtime drag racing fans, two of drag racing’s greatest legends – Shirley Muldowney and Don Garlits – will attend this year’s race as part of NHRA’s 60th anniversary celebration. Special packages are available featuring meet-and-greets as well as a private lunch with Muldowney and Garlits.

To take part in this annual Arizona racing tradition, purchase your tickets today.  Three-day general admission packages start at $108.00, while three-day reserved-plus packages begin at $229.00. Single-day tickets are also available. To purchase tickets or to learn more, please call 602-268-0200, or visit www.firebirdraceway.com.
