Southern California drag race fans will be able to buy tickets for the
legendary March Meet at Auto Club Famoso Raceway – Mar. 9-11 in Bakersfield
– locally at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona. The tickets
will be on sale during the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals, Feb.
8-11 at the Fairplex in Pomona. A portion of the proceeds from the March
Meet ticket sales will benefit Museum programs.
"We know that many fans will be at the Museum during the upcoming Winternationals," said Blake Bowser, vice president and general manager of the Kern County Racing Association, operators of Auto Club Famoso and producers of the fabled March Meet. "We want to make it convenient for them to get their March Meet tickets early, while helping to benefit the Museum we all love." The March Meet, which inaugurated top-level drag racing in Bakersfield, features nostalgia drag racing in twelve classes. From front-engined Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars to Hot Rods, there's a class for every nostalgia racer who ever dreamed of competing.
"The Museum really appreciates this generous offer," said Tony Thacker, executive director of the Parks Museum. "The March Meet is an historic event and we're pleased to make these tickets available to our fans."Tickets to the March Meet are presently available online, and will be available at the gate during the event. A three-day pass is $75. Tickets for Friday are $25; Saturday and Sunday are $30 each day. Auto Club members also receive a $ 2 discount off daily admission tickets by showing their cards when they purchase tickets at the track. Daily tickets for children ages 7 to 12 are $10 and kids 6 and under are free when accompanied by an adult with paid admission.
