Randy
Walker slipped the monkey off his back at the West Coast Hot Rod Association’s
first ever event at Speedworld Motorplex in Surprise, AZ this past weekend. It
was not an easy weekend because he had to fight tooth and nail throughout qualifying
with Steve Paulauskis who had the noted distinction of recording the first Pro Street pass in
the 6.3 zone by a West Coast racer during the final qualifier.

was not an easy weekend because he had to fight tooth and nail throughout qualifying
with Steve Paulauskis who had the noted distinction of recording the first Pro Street pass in

The 6.3-second
run gave Paulauskis the pole but a string of 6.4-second passes by the Walker team had them
eclipse their own personal best of 6.54. The final was a bit anticlimactic as Paulauskis
struggled with brake problems and went .21 red to hand the first ever WCHRA
Mike’s Transmission Pro Street
title to a resurgent Walker
team.
Other
notable winners included Rod Oxford, Artis Houston, Mat Schmidt, and Brian
Weber who also took home the Team Racing Enterprises 7 day trip to Cabo San
Lucas. The next WCHRA event will be held
at AAA Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield,
CA on April 13-15. More info can
