In response to Hillary Will's crash during a test pass Saturday afternoon at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company issued the following statement to nitro-class teams:

"Top Fuel driver Hillary Will had an incident Saturday during NHRA testing at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"At this time, we do not know the exact order of events that occurred and what role -- if any -- the tires on her car might have played.

"One of the tires from Will's car has been shipped back to Goodyear's headquarters in Akron, Ohio. It will go through a thorough examination by our research department.

"As a conservative measure, we have suggested to the Top Fuel and Funny Car teams that they not use the tires within that production frame until this examination is completed."

It is unclear at this time how many teams this will affect as the Powerade Drag Racing Series season prepares to open this Thursday at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, California.

The exact cause of the crash remains unknown.
