CORY MAC AND CAPPS TOP MONDAY TESTING

The fourth day of testing during the NHRA National Time Trials at Firebird Raceway produced good results for some and continued frustration for others.

Fram-sponsored superstar Cory McClenathan was the quickest at the Monday Phoenix session with a 4.473, 331.45. Tony Schumacher remained atop the Top Fuel pecking order with an early-lifting 4.442 at only 326.08.

Brandon Bernstein upped his performance with a 4.479, 329.83 for the overall third place.

Kenny Bernstein moved on step closer to updating his license with a 5.146, 271 during Monday's testing.
Rod Fuller continues to test the mono-strut car and his best is a 4.530, 326.40 from Sunday. His Monday best was a 4.611.

Ron Capps remained at the top of the Funny Car list on the strength of a solid 4.678, 325.92. He opened Monday’s testing with a 4.711, 329.75 which proved the best for Monday.

Gary Scelzi also had a strong Monday effort with a 4.785/326.56.

Dean Skuza continues to reacquaint himself with nitro Funny Cars with a 4.866/295.01. Skuza is driving Mike Ashley’s Torco Race Fuels-backed Dodge Charger.

Kenny Bernstein moved one step closer to fulfilling his licensing by running a 5.146/271.13 during the final session of the day.
