A YEAR OF CHANGE FOR SOROKIN

Nostalgia Top Fuel pilot Adam Sorokin is excited for the coming 2007
season
which will bring a few changes. The driver of Brian Van Dyke’s
“RB
Entertainment” Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster will drive the same car
in which
he ran the quickest pass ever recorded for a front engine
dragster (5.703
ET) last November at the Bakersfield Fuel and Gas
Finals, however, with
Goodguys getting out of the nostalgia drag racing
scene, the future of the
class is evolving and Adam is excited about
the change.
“The cars and
drivers of Nostalgia Top Fuel are awesome
and a thrill to watch. I'm really
looking forward to what develops for
our class.” said the Santa Monica, CA
resident. “Having Brian Van Dyke
and (crew chief) Bobby McLennan and the
Champion Speed Shop team behind
this car is a great feeling. I know we have
the best team, the best
parts and we get to start out the season in front of
the NHRA crowd at
the Winternationals in Pomona making a couple of
exhibition runs! I
couldn’t be more excited!”
Another change for
Sorokin this year is he is no longer driving the DLS
Motorsports Fuel Funny
Car. Adam had been the team’s driver as they
completed their licensing
process and first shakedown passes. With
only one more run needed to
complete his Professional Funny Car
license, the driver's seat has been put
up for sale to the highest
bidder. "It Sucks, but sometimes that's just the
way things go" said
Adam. "I'd like to thank the team for the opportunity
and it was a
great start to pursuing my dream of driving professionally."
