SPITZER RACE CARS SPONSORS NHRA DIV. 3 TD

Spitzer Race Cars signed a multi-year agreement with NHRA to become the title sponsor of the North Central Division’s Top Dragster Series.

The seven-race 2007 NHRA Spitzer Race Cars Top Dragster Series will debut at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, May 18-20 in conjunction with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event. It will conclude with the NHRA Jeg’s Northern SPORTSnationals in Columbus, Ohio, September 28-30.

Other 2007 series races will be included with selected NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events at Route 66 Raceway, June 15-17; Mid-Michigan Motorplex, June 23-24; Gateway International Raceway, July 13-15; National Trail Raceway, July 27-29, and Beech Bend Raceway Park, August 24-26.

The season champion will receive $3,000, a coveted Wally® trophy, a champion’s jacket, and an NHRA Gold Card at the annual "Land of the Winners" Awards Banquet. The runner-up will earn $1,000 and the third-place finisher will receive $500.  A driver’s best five finishes of the first eight NHRA Top Dragster races attended will count toward the division championship.  Up to two out of division races may be counted.

A special Jeg’s Top Dragster Showdown will be contested during Saturday’s qualifying rounds at the series final held in conjunction with the NHRA Jeg’s Northern SPORTSnationals.  The field of this year’s invitational event will be made up of top qualifiers from Spitzer Race Cars Top Dragster Series events and other qualifiers from other Top Dragster events to be announced by NHRA.
