Art Linkletter, well known for his involvement with the "Kid's Say The Darndest Things" television show, died Wednesday at his home in Bel Air, Ca. He was 97.

However, what you might not know is "Link" had a real link to drag racing.

"He was a good guy, and likely the first celebrity to be involved with a drag race car," said former National DRAGSTER editor Bill Holland, now an advertising agency owner.

"I've attached a photo of Linkletter, his late daughter Diane, and yours truly kneeling by our "Art Linkletter's House Party" Top Fuel car," Holland continued. "My partner, John Guedel, is in the seat. The occasion was the 1968 Santa Claus Lane Parade down Hollywood Blvd. Back then, it was a huge media event."
