Elite Motorsports has largely increased their presence in NHRA Pro Stock this season. Backing young star Rickie Jones, forming the Elite Performance engine program and offering complete ride and drive operations for Pro Stock, Elite Motorsports has quickly come on the scene as a true player in the NHRA arena. Now, Elite Motorsports is set to debut a driver new to Pro Stock.

Although new to professional racing, Mike Trumble is a name very familiar among the sportsman ranks. He has frequented the winner’s circle for years in several categories including Stock, Super Stock and Competition Eliminators. Now he is ready to try his hand at the often revered Pro Stock class. He is teaming up with Elite Motorsports to run select events this year, starting off with the upcoming O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals, April 9-11 at Houston Raceway Park.

This Texas racer has also capture the Jegs All Star title once in Super Stock and then again in Competition Eliminator. His successful career is no accident and now his move to Pro Stock is only fitting.

“I am thrilled to be making the move to Pro Stock,” told Trumble. “It is an exciting class and easily a favorite. It’s also one of the toughest classes out there, so I’m excited to take on the challenge. Elite Motorsports is a great operation to work with and I think we’ll make a great team.”

“We’re very excited to start this Ride and Drive program with Mike,” added Richard Freeman, of Elite Motorsports. “He’s been very successful in his sportsman career and we feel that he has the right tools to be just as successful in the professional ranks. We’re going to run this program in association with Rick and Rickie Jones who field our sponsored car. We have several new engines in our shop and we’re anxious to get out there and try them. We plan to run the next two events on the schedule and then go from there.
