GOODGUYS ANNOUNCE NEW PRESIDENT

The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has announced Marc Meadors as its new company President. Meadors, 39, assumed his new role January 2nd. He replaces his father, company founder Gary Meadors, who will now serve as Goodguys Chairman. In his new role as Goodguys President, Marc Meadors will manage and oversee all phases and the future direction of Goodguys.

A “car guy” since his very early childhood, Meadors has been around the rod & custom culture his entire life. He was one of the first-ever Goodguys staff employees, starting his tenure with the family business back in 1985 as soon as he graduated from San Ramon Valley high school in Danville, CA. He’s been with the company ever since, but stepped away briefly in 1993 to start “Goodtimes Enterprises” – a highly successful import car show circuit. He returned to Goodguys in 1995 as Chief Operating Officer – a position he held until his recent promotion to the Goodguys Presidency.

Throughout his life, Meadors has remained passionate about rods & customs and the Goodguys Association. “Cars and Goodguys are my life,” he said. “It’s all I’ve really known. When As a kid I was going to hot rod events and drag races with dad in the family hot rod. I’ve been right in the mix through the formative years of Goodguys and have been fortunate enough to see Goodguys become the world’s largest Rod & Custom association. My goal as President is to continue to grow Goodguys and continue to bring the world’s best rod & custom events to car owners and enthusiasts around the country. We’re always looking for ways to improve our events, improve the association, improve the magazine (The Goodguys Goodtimes Gazette) and look for new and exciting venues to hold Goodguys events. The sky is the limit really.”

Where does this leave the original Goodguy, Gary Meadors? “I’ll still be very involved with Goodguys,” said the senior Meadors. “You’ll still see Marilyn and I cruising around the USA in one of our cool cars and rest assured – Goodguys has been and will continue to be my main focus in life. The industry is changing. Lots of old school street rodders and graybeards are reaching into their 70s now but thankfully the industry has enjoyed a tremendous influx of younger guys with great minds and great vision over the last decade. Our future is in great hands and so is Goodguys with Marc at the controls.”

Marc Meadors resides in Danville, California with his wife Jess Ann and their four-year old twins Grant and Grace and 15 year old daughter BreAnn. Still a die hard gearhead, he enjoys weekend outings behind the wheel of his Dodge Red Ram-hemi powered ’32 Ford hiboy roadster and is currently preparing a six-second supercharged alcohol burning ’69 Camaro for the drag strip.
