$10,000 T0 WIN AT THE ROCK’S CAROLINA POWERFEST 9

“Fall Frenzy” continues this week (Oct. 9-10) at Rockingham Dragway where many of the Southeast’s most accomplished bracket racers compete for prize money, prestige and more than 250 special prizes in Carolina Powerfest 9 presented by Yuengling beer.

For Top ET and Footbrake racers, the weekend begins Friday with a pair of Gamblers’ races interspersed with a test-and-tune session.  The competition intensifies on Saturday with a $10,000-to-win race in Top ET, a Footbrake race paying $2,000 and the addition of a Jr. Dragster race with a $500 top prize and concludes with three more races on Sunday.

Former Carolina Coalition champion T.G. Paschal of McLeansville and 2018 NHRA Carolina Nationals Super Comp champion Corey Manuel of Winston-Salem, who took home the biggest checks a year ago, are expected back along with 2020 Footbrake winners David Hunt of Pelion, S.C., and Steve Sides of Fayetteville.

In addition to the cash, the popular Blue Light Special program will award prizes to both competitors whenever the blue light is illuminated on the dial-in board whether it’s in time trials, first round, second round or the final round.  Among the 250 prizes to be distributed are tools, gift cards and T-shirts.  On Saturday night, there also will be a free “Racer Appreciation” barbecue and brew party sponsored by Yuengling.

Crew member and spectator admission is $15 daily although combo tickets can be purchased at a discount -- $25 for Saturday-Sunday or $30 for all three days.  Children under 12 are free with a ticketed adult.
