both air flow and for ease of mounting), and CAD designed inner radii to

inches to 10.5 inches. Gandolfi’s states, “It’s actually simple thinking when it
comes down to it. We want non-turbulent controlled air entering the rotor
cavity.  The way the air enters the passing rotor is the key, and when we
improve the rotor fill we increase the engines horsepower potential.

BG FUEL SYSTEMS INTRODUCES CONTINUOUS-DUTY FUEL PUMPS

Fuel Systems has announced two new continuous-duty electric fuel pumps for
carbureted street and track applications, the Mighty Enduro and the King
Enduro.  The Mighty produces 400 lb. of
fuelqqmmk2.jpg per hour and is designed for vehicles of up to 750 horsepower.  The King produces 1000 lb. of fuel per hour
and supports engines of up to 2000 horsepower. These continuous-duty pumps
feature an integral, 8-micron stainless steel fuel filter and a unique
dry-break arrangement.  The dry-break
eliminates the need to drain the fuel cell when renewing the filter or
servicing the fuel system—it’s safer, drier, and quicker.  Additionally, these billet aluminum pumps use no shaft or housing
seals, ending fuel leakage problems.

 

The
Enduro pumps are ideal for street/strip cars, street machines, street rods,

JESEL SHAFT ROCKERS FOR DART BIG CHIEF HEADS

Dart’s Big Chief cylinder heads for big-block Chevys are arguably the most
popular cylinder heads in bracket and sportsman drag racing. They do however
present a challenge to valvetrain designers due to their aggressive valve
locations and pushrod angles that put extreme sideloads on shaft rockers. JESEL
solved much of the problem with its “Zero Thrust” upgrade a couple of years ago
that located a Torrington needle thrust bearing to absorb the side loads exerted
on the rocker.547_558img1.jpg

JESEL has just released another upgrade for the Dart Big Chief – a one-piece
billet stand that securely anchors the shaft rocker system to the head. A simple
machine shop milling operation is required to bring all rocker pads down to the
same level, but any competent machine shop can easily perform this operation.
(JESEL will also do the machine work if you send your cylinder heads to them).

The rockers are CNC machined out of heat-resistant, 7000 Series aluminum,
shotpeened for strength and fitted with precision Timken needle bearings that
ride on centerless-ground, high-strength steel shafts. These rockers are rated
for more than one-inch-lift cams and 1,200 pounds of open spring pressure.
Several options are available including .360" or .250”-wide needle nose rollers,
several lightening options such as the single-rib MoHawk style, and
JESEL’s
exclusive ball adjusters that reduce friction and make the rocker even stronger.

NEW SHELBY GT500 TRANS UPGRADES FROM ROCKLAND STANDARD GEAR

Ford’s 549_560img1.jpgnew Shelby GT500 is just about perfect – it looks great, goes like hell
and it makes all of the right sounds. Unfortunately, it has one major flaw that
affects both performance and detracts from the driving experience. Ford selected
gear ratios for the Tremec 6060 transmission to optimize 0-60mph times. The
problem is that these ratios cause the engine to bog down on the 1-2 shift and
also reduce shift quality.

Rockland Standard Gear, home of the famous Tranzilla® high-performance
six-speeds has the ideal fix – RSG will transform your balky 6060 into a
Tranzilla Jr., capable of withstanding up to 750hp with ratios that keep you
buried in the powerband! RSG has two gearsets available
(2.66/1.78/1.30/1:1/.74/.50 or 2.97/2.07/1.42/1:1/.80/.062). Both of these
ratios are a huge improvement over the O.E. gear spacing of
2.98/1.78/1.30/1:1/.80/.63.

Additional modifications include a 30-spline, 9310-alloy mainshaft and REM
(mirror) finished gears and shafts. The synchros are upgraded to carbon fiber
triple cone (1-2) and carbon fiber double cone for the 3-4 and 5-6 gears. These
Tranzilla Jr.s come with billet synchro keys, billet shift interlock and steel
3-4 shift forks, painstakingly custom matched and fitted and performance shimmed
for maximum durability.

For those who’ve boosted their Shelby to the 1,000hp-plus level, RSG offers
the original Tranzilla rated to 1200hp. They feature the same upgrades as
Tranzilla Jr. plus a full 9310 super close-ratio (2.29/1.60/1.21/1:1/.85/.75)
gearset ideal for road racing. Race type dog-ring synchros are also available
providing clutchless shifting for quicker lap times.
