Rahn has proven to be a super crew chief and to master both fuel classes is an achievement. Nobody stays on top in Funny Car tuning consistently. It is just too hard. What Rahn brings is steady consistency and tries to keep the parts breakage to a minimum. I have followed Rahn thru his years with Shirley and Doug.

I have had the honor of meeting Rahn since my son is a CPR team member, and I sincerely believe that Rahn Tobler is not only the best strategy tuner, but he and his wife Ellen are just really good people. He has in my opinion really brought this team together and they will certainly be a top if not THE top contender in 2009. - Ron Long

1-2-2009

I always felt this would be a great working relationship. Most people don't know this, but Rahn started working on the Stevens & Venables Dragster and Funny Car back in the late 1960's and early 1970's when he was a kid. He had a long relationship with both Dick Sr., and Jr. I knew this would pay off and turn into a great deal for the Cruzer and Rahn. I worked with Steve Stevens at Southwestern Bell in those days and have always considered Steve a great friend.

Steve and Dick Sr. basically taught Rahn the trade. - Earl Helm


Great story on Rahn's time before, up to, and during his tenure with Cruz's Funny Car operation.  He (Cruz) finally has somebody with the caliber to go head-to-head with the Force Army, and win.  I believe this will be a continuing win-win combination on into 2009 and beyond. - Jack W Smith
