I fondly remember waiting in-line to buy a hamburger in Sonoma, 3 people ahead of me was Gary Ormsby also waiting in-line to buy burgers for his crew.

He was my hero then and still is to this day, a cool guy who never sought celebrity just wanted to win races. He was inspirational to me then and still is to this day.

I liked the piece on Gary Ormsby. I worked with Lee on this in 1984-1985. We were young and strong then.

Gary was a special guy, a quiet achiever I would call him, and boy, did he love drag racing. Heady days... I reside in Australia now, so thanks for your coverage of the business, as I am a regular reader these days. - Gary "the Gov" Evans
