FEEDBACK ARTICLE: THE LEGEND OF LARRY SUTTON
Wow, Super article about Larry Sutton! We here in the Midwest don't know about the "stars" of the West Coast scene (except the big name drivers), so it is really neat to read about a guy like him. Thanks! -Steve Greer
I’ve been around racing long enough to see who’s who, and Larry Sutton use to ride a bike to Lions just to be the starter. When I worked with Al Hershfield, or Gene Beaver, I was always watching Larry for direction. He missed nothing and nobody when they were staging and if any one ever said he made a bad call, and they asked me, I’d have said, If Larry called it, it was a fair call, and many times excited drivers would be upset as he would shut them off. His call was first over whoever you were, and no matter how much the driver thought he was right. Larry was not one to back down, even in the face of violence and that happened a few times. In the end he always made the safe and fair call. I’m proud to know him, and respect his driving, sportsmanship, and his integrity. Thanks Larry you’re a credit to this sport. -Diesel Louie Force
