FEEDBACK ARTICLE – TEAMS REACT TO OILDOWN PENALTIES

DSA_7052
The NHRA could cost a race team the championship. It should have implemented the rule at the start of next season, not at the last race of the season that could affect the outcome. Graham Light doesn't have a clue. The race teams should revolt. - Dan Jonas

Typical NHRA reaction. They really have a poor collection of decision making executives. - Bob Dyson

Typical NHRA knee jerk reaction..Why not start this stupid rule at the beginning of next year rather than have the possibility of changing the outcome of any title hopes. - Bob Chrisman

Much of the penalty should depend on the team oil down record of the past. Place the penalty on the teams that do the damage. Make it a variable penalty but in the last race of the season and the possibility of being left out of the show is a little severe. Even to the extent of removing points would make the teams more conscious of proper tuning and trying really hard to prevent engine failure.

Great website. Keep up the good work - Joe Rossman
