FEEDBACK ARTICLE – REYES ON TOUR: JUNE 2009

6_3_2009_reyes_on_tour.jpgThe greatest photos ever by one of the best. Back when you left to go on tour and were gone all spring, summer, and fall racing 3 days a week. What happened? Its a drag racing version of Peter Pan where everyone grew up except Greek, he's still at it doing it his way. - Michael Brotherton

As always, great pictures from Steve. Guess it shows me being an old Geezer, but I was actually at a couple of those races ! Ah, the memories! – Eric Bruns

Without a doubt, one of the most important single factors that has brought recognition and success to the sport of Drag Racing, have been the contributions of the many talented photographers covering the sport. The list is long and loaded with so much expertise that is indeed difficult to list any of them without slighting others that one might forget. But era wise during the 1950's & very early 60's, Eric Rickman was The Man behind the lens for Hot Rod Magazine.

In the mid 60's Leslie Lovett's stunning cover photography for Super Stock & Drag Illustrated took the notoriety of the Funny Car to new heights. Shortly thereafter as the sport exploded on the scene in the late 60's so much talent emerged that it was difficult to keep track of everyone. But in that initial wave Steve Reyes, Tim Marshall, and Bob McClurg made history by capturing so many dramatic moments, that Drag Racing became etched in time and motorsports history due to their timeless contributions. On behalf of all fans and racers, Thank you! - David Gutierrez

Wonderful photos! Please keep them coming and the stories that go with them. Steve's memory and his experiences are a history of a time and places we are not likely to see again. – Jim Philipson
