David Hart, a respected motorsports communications professional, has joined Furniture Row Racing to manage the public relations program for the team’s No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota Camry that will be driven in 2017 by rookie Erik Jones in NASCAR’s premier series.​

Hart will work closely with David Ferroni, who will continue to handle the public relations for Furniture Row Racing’s No. 78 team and its driver Martin Truex Jr. Ferroni will also oversee Furniture Row Racing’s corporate communications.

Hart, a 28-year veteran in motorsports public relations, previously worked in NASCAR as the corporate communications director for Richard Childress Racing from 1999-2013. He was most recently employed as public relations manager at Laguna Seca Raceway near Monterey, Calif.

His varied motorsports experience also includes public relations director at Sonoma Raceway, media relations manager for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and director of communications for the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).

Hart will be based in Charlotte, N.C., He is a native of California and was an English major at California State University, Chico.
