For the first time since the end of the 2012 Camping World Truck Series, Matt Crafton isn't leaving Homestead-Miami Speedway celebrating a championship. Instead he's celebrating his career high sixth win on the season and his first ever at the South Florida 1.5 mile track.

Crafton started from the pole and led 99 of the race's 134 laps. While he knew the championship slipped out of reach, the two time champion wanted to finish what one could argue his most successful season in the series.

"Tonight's win was awesome," Crafton said. "The last two years we haven't been able to race here, and to be able to take the gloves off and don't worry about a championship and just go out and win, and that's all we had to do was worry about winning, and I said nothing else was going to make us happy. So that's what we did tonight."

Crafton knows he had a remarkable season despite not bringing home the ultimate prize.

"We had a phenomenal season," Crafton explained. "Six wins and 700 -- I think they said 780 laps we led. That's a pretty good season. We just had one column that was bad for us: DNFs. I made mistakes and everybody made mistakes.

"But I promise you one thing, it's going to make us stronger for 2016."

For the second straight week rookie phenom John Hunter Nemechek grabbed a runner up finish. The finish for Nemechek, who won earlier this season at Chicagoland, is his 10th top 10 finish of the season.

Tyler Reddick finished in third place; his second top 10 finish in two races at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Reddick finished the 2015 campaign with a runner up finish in the points standings.

"Going into this year, our standards were set very high," Reddick said. "We wanted to win the championship. And obviously a lot of people -- I feel like a lot of people didn't think we were capable of that. We didn't end up being capable of it. As you see, we were runner-up. We were always very strong throughout the season. We were always right there. Unfortunately we were just a little too short there coming into Homestead to really mix it up in the last race.  The 4 (Erik Jones) had quite a comfortable points gap."

Reddick admits he's disappointed in the season's finish but knows the future is bright for both he and his team at Brad Keselowski Racing.

"That was a shame, I had a couple bad races on my part that definitely took us out of the points lead and dropped us back there towards the end," Reddick explained. "Just learning and understanding what's worth the risk and what's your reward.  We picked up on a few things.  We definitely got more consistent toward the end of the season.  Not always were we the fastest, but we'd always run clean races and be there at the end to have a shot at winning the races.

"Unfortunately that only happened for us twice this year, but I feel like if we play our cards right and do things right like we did this year that we'll have shots like that again in the future."

Rookie Ben Kennedy came home in fourth place with Timothy Peters grabbing the fifth place finish.

Erik Jones piloted his No. 4 Toyota to a sixth place finish which clinched the series championship for the 19 year old Michigan native. The championship is the fourth for Kyle Busch Motorsports but the team's first driver's championship.

Johnny Sauter grabbed a seventh place finish in his last race as a member of ThorSport Racing.

Daniel Hemric finished eigth with Cameron Hayley and John Wes Townley rounding out the top ten finishers.

Daniel Suarez led 10 laps and was leading when he appeared to make contact with the lapped car of Ray Black, Jr. The contact sent Suarez spinning, an incident which Suarez could not recover from; Suarez would finish in 30th place.
