Promise and potential are two characteristics which young Cody Coughlin brings to the race track every time the 20-year old Delaware, Ohio native straps into a yellow race car adorned in the colors of his family’s company, JEGS.com.

This weekend will be no different  -- he's just going to be buckling in a bit more than usual.

Coughlin is set to make his second start of the season in a Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports in Friday night's Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway then on Saturday he will compete in the ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Anderson (IN) Speedway.

Coughlin believes he is built for the challenge of a busy weekend.

“I’ve done back-to-backs before, but never in such extreme circumstances,” Coughlin said. “But I know that Bono and the KBM guys will prepare me a great Toyota Tundra, and I know my Team JEGS guys of Jack Smith (crew chief), Kevin Hamlin (team manager), Scott Wimmer (crew chief) and Dave Holt (crew member) will prepare me a great Late Model for Saturday. I can’t thank everybody enough that help make things like this happen, especially my parents, Di and John, and my little sister Kennedi. They all support me so much.

"Of course, none of this would be possible without our Lord and Savior who continues to bless us every day.”

Coughlin, who has not raced in the Camping World Truck Series since February at Daytona, isn't a rookie when it comes to Kansas Speedway. Coughlin scored a fourth-place finish at the Sunflower State mile-and-a-half track.

Coughlin believes familiarity may work in his favor Friday night.

“I think it’s always great to go back to a track you have run on even in a different series especially one we ran well at so it’s a positive,” Coughlin said. “Even though the trucks handle a bit differently than the ARCA cars, I know the line at Kansas and how to race in traffic there, so I think we’ll have a good day.”

Coughlin's track time will begin on Thursday, May 5 for three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice sessions. He will qualify his truck at 4:30 pm on Friday with the race following at 8:30 p.m. Coughlin will then travel to Anderson, Indiana with practice, qualifying and a 125-lap feature all in one Saturday.
