CLASSIC VIDEO - HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 1969 AHRA SPRING NATIONALS

Now, this is a blast from the past! We've happened across in our extensive collection. This video appears more to be a documentary, much of which is shot at the last AHRA event hosted by Thunder Valley Dragway in Bristol, Tenn.

Much of the video follows the Mickey Thompson Mustang Funny Car driven by Danny Ongais in the formative years of the division. Travel back in time, because there's something for everybody in this old school visit.

CPTV CLASSIC VIDEO - RARE FIND OF US 30 DRAGWAY ACTION WITH SOUND

Chicagoland drag racing is much different now than it was back in the 1970s.

A stadium-style facility, built in the late 1990s, plays host to a stop on the 23-race NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series in Joliet, Ill. Up until 1984, a coliseum of sorts, located 30 miles east of Joliet, once served as the host to the nitro gladiators of yesteryear.

Don’t be confused, US 30 Drag Strip in Gary, Indiana was no Route 66 Raceway. However, it served a purpose for hundreds of thousands of drag racing fans in Chicago.

A CAJUN WEEKEND CLASSIC: 1984 NHRA CAJUN NATIONALS

From the onset of this presentation of the annual pilgrimage to Baton Rouge, La., one could feel this wouldn't be the normal presentation of the NHRA Nationals.

The Ed McCulloch/John Collins Funny Car crash was one which hadn't been seen broadly in drag racing since the legendary Jeb Allen/John Weibe incident nearly a decade early.

There was all kinds of action featuring the legends Gary Beck, Mark Oswald, Joe Amato and a new Thunderbrid of Bob Glidden.

Take a trip back to the glory days of NHRA when Moose's weekend never presented a dull moment.

HONORING BIG MAC: LEGENDS: THE SERIES - THE LEGEND OF DAVE MCCLELLAND

In as much as actor Morgan Freeman's voice epitomizes the perceived voice of God, there's no perceiving when it comes to the voice of drag racing.

No single voice has been more closely associated with NHRA Championship Drag Racing than that of Dave McClelland. For 42 years (1961-2003), “Big Mac” announced NHRA events, served as TV host on TNN, cut TV and radio commercials and served as emcee at countless NHRA functions from banquets to press conferences.

You’ll hear from the drivers and see all the action in incredible detail both visual and audio. Sit back and crank up the sound because you are going to enjoy this one.

RARE DRAG RACING VIDEO - 1984 IHRA NORTHERN NATIONALS - MILAN, MICHIGAN

You'll see the legends such as Dale Pulde, Kenny Bernstein, Billy Meyer, Tom McEwen, Mark Oswald, and Raymond Beadle. The Pro Stocker are represented by Rickie Smith, Lee Shepherd, Darrell Alderman, Roy Hill, Joe Lepone Jr., and more. At the time, many of the sports big names ran both IHRA and NHRA because of Winston's involvement.
