While stick and ball sports may have seperate versions for male and female, drag racing provides an arena for both to compete on a level playing field.

Five races remain in the 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series regular season. The top ten point earners at the completion of the NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals will then enter the Countdown to 1 champion phase.

With eleven races already completed, the fields are shaping up and on the outside looking in are a handful of prominent drivers.

In this installment of Full Throttle TV at CompetitionPlus.tv, master statistician Lewis Bloom details those drivers who are on the bubble.

Top Doorslammer: It’s Australian for on the edge of your seat drag racing action.

Second in the ANDRA pecking order, behind only behind Top Fuel, Top Doorslammer is the Australian equivalent of American Pro Modified. In Top Doorslammer, the rules mandate the engine must be supercharged. Currently nitrous-oxide injection and turbocharging is prohibited.

You do have a choice of screw [2700 lbs.] or rootes [2550] style supercharger.

Top Doorslammer, T/D in Aussie circles, began in 1995 as an Exhibition Class, from AA/Altered Production vehicles.

With the Western Swing right around the corner Nitro Rewind is back talking about the O’Reilly Rt. 66 NHRA Nationals in Chicago and the first look at the MOPAR Mile-High NHRA Nationals in Denver, July 22-24. The show, an internet based broadcast, is hosted by Bill Stephens and features interviews from Top Fuel and Funny Car NHRA competitors, is available on the NHRA’s YouTube channel after every NHRA national event.

“Mike Neff is making it a habit of appearing on Nitro Rewind with his second win in a row. He gives us some great insight into the men behind the man including Bernie Fedderly, Jon Schaffer, and Dan Hood,” said Ashley Force Hood, John Force Entertainment president.

“Antron Brown talks Western Swing and Robert Hight talks about winning in Denver last year which gives our viewers some cool prespective.”

Surprise first round Chicago winner Dale Creasy Jr. talks about being a smaller team going against the big teams. Also Nitro Rewind host Bill Stephens talks about another talent he has which is media training with NHRA stars.
