CPTV VIDEO - PRO MOD MAYHEM IN HOUSTON

Friday was tough on two teams running in the NHRA J&A Pro Modified Series at the NHRA Springnationals in Baytown, Texas..

Sidnei Frigo and Jonathan Gray had a pair of wild rides during qualifying

Frigo lost control of his turbocharged Corvette at the end of his qualifying run and crashed past the finish line. Frigo was responsive to medical personnel and extricated from the car by the NHRA Safety Safari presented by AAA and transported via helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital for evaluation.

Frigo, a former NHRA Top Fuel and Top Alcohol Dragster racer, was the No. 1 qualifier earlier this year at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals.

Gray, making his second appearance in the Precision Turbo Camaro, made hard contact with the retaining wall just past the finish line after posting a 5.868 elapsed time at more than 257 mph, which was good for the No. 3 spot after the first of three scheduled qualifying sessions. Gray climbed out of the car unassisted.
