IHRA Pro Modified racer Dina Parise just wanted to be one of the boys. Decades later nothing has changed.

Parise, growing up on Long Island, NY, wanted to be one of the boys and play ice hockey. It was too rough, they said and pushed the energetic young lady into figure skating where she later became a member of the famed Ice Capades skater. 

Fast forward to the present, an adult Parise, wanted to join her husband Andrew in drag racing but not as a backup girl or administrative assistant. She wanted to race and just be one of the guys in a male-oriented division - the rough and tumble world of Pro Modified.
