The 6-event NMCA series is the largest and most popular muscle car and street car drag racing series in the country. Each national event offers drag racing categories ranging from 4,000hp Xtreme Pro Mods to entry-level drag and street racing classes, an awesome late & early-model Car Show, Manufacturer’s Midway, and much more.

On Friday, the pageantry of Super Stock class eliminations hits its highest crescendo with the Dodge Hemi Shootout, a battle of 426-inch Hemis and Darts to determine the top of the food chain amongst Super Stock cars. This year there's 19 of these historic and unique race machines set to do battle for the prestige, honor and $15,000 prize for being the best.

Multiple rain delays during the Division 5 event at Tri-State Raceway caused eliminations to be halted. This event will be completed during the LODRS event at SRCA Dragstrip in Great Bend, Kan., Sept. 20-22.

Top Alcohol Dragster driver Troy Coughlin is certifiably hot after winning three of the last four races he's entered. Friday, at the Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals, he added some fuel to the fire with a provisional No. 1 qualifier.
Joining Coughlin atop their respective Lucas Oil division Friday were Phil Esz (Top Alcohol Funny Car), Mark Pawuk (Factory Stock Showdown), Brad Plourd (Competition) and Ernie Neal (Super Stock).
