SORENSON HEADLINES LUCAS OIL NO. 1s AT JEGS NHRA ROUTE 66 NATS

 

Stock Eliminator racer Joe Sorenson wanted to make a strong impression headed into Saturday's Jegs All-Stars competition.

 

Not only did Sorenson qualify atop the 60-car Stock Eliminator field during first-day qualifying at the Jegs NHRA Route 66 Nationals, but also laid down the top run amongst his Jegs All-Stars competition by running -1.094 under the G/Stock Automatic standard with his 1969 Camaro with a 10.906. The next closest competitor in the eight-car specialty event was the D/Stock Automatic Camaro of Andrew Hill with a -1.079, 10.471,

 

 

Marion Stephenson was the top gun in Super Stock with a 9.672 performance, -0.978 under the GT/IA index. The top seed in the Jegs All-Stars Super Stock portion was Jeff Dona, 9.635. -0.965 under the Super Stock standard.

Comp Eliminator was able to get in one session with bellhousing specialist Brian Browell emerging as the early leader with a 7.176, -0.664 under the D/Dragster index.

Shane Novak leads Top Sportsman after two sessions with a 6.247, 227.80 performance, while Zach Sackman's 6.050, 229.82 paced Top Dragster.
