Byron Dragway today announced the 2017 Big Bucks Bracket Bash Series schedule.  With over $400,000 in total posted prize money, it is the world’s richest track operated bracket program.  The series features bracket racing in the Super Pro, Pro Eliminator, Street Eliminator, and Sportsman categories.

Super Pro pays a guaranteed $2,500 to win on Saturdays and $5,000 to win on Sundays with the exception for increased payouts during the 18th Annual Firecracker Bracket Nationals (June 30-July 2) and Fall Bracket Nationals (October 14-15) weekends.  Super Pro is a combination Box and No Box class.  The final round is a runoff between the last Box and No Box cars.

Pro Eliminator, Street Eliminator, and Sportsman are contested on Sunday only of all Big Bucks Bracket Bash Series weekends.  Pro, Street, and Sportsman also compete apart from the Big Bucks Bracket Bash Series on Father’s Day Sunday, June 18.  Pro Eliminator pays a guaranteed $1,000 to win.  Street Eliminator pays $500 if entries exceed 35 cars.  Sportsman prize money is based on entries.

Racers gather points in all classes that go towards determining track champions who are honored at the annual Byron Dragway Awards Banquet.  Likewise, top points earners in the Super Pro, Pro Eliminator, and Sportsman classes may be eligible to represent Byron Dragway at the NHRA Summit Racing Division 3 Bracket Finals at Indianapolis in September.

The Big Bucks Bracket Bash Series opens with the three day Memorial Day Bracket Nationals, May 27-29.  Saturday features the first of fourteen Super Pro points races.  Also, a Test & Tune will be conducted on the Saturday of all Big Bucks weekends.  Sunday pays $5,000 to win in Super Pro and also includes the first of eight points races in Pro Eliminator, Street Eliminator, and Sportsman.  Memorial Day Monday then features a non-points, $2,500 to win Super Pro race.

The 18th Annual Firecracker Bracket Nationals weekend opens on Friday, June 30 with the non-points, Folk Race Cars 64-Car Shootout that pays $6,000 to win.  Super Pro then pays $3,000 to win Saturday and $7,000 to win Sunday with Pro Eliminator, Street Eliminator, and Sportsman being contested on Sunday only.

The prestigious 42nd Annual U.S. Bracket Nationals is the longest running big money bracket race on Labor Day weekend, September 2-4.

The Big Bucks Bracket Bash Series culminates with the Fall Bracket Nationals, October 14-15.  Super Pro racers will compete for $4,000 to win on Saturday and $10,000 to win on Sunday.  Sunday also features Pro Eliminator, Street Eliminator, and Sportsman in what will be their eighth and final points race of the season.  Likewise, Super Pro will conclude their points season on that day with their fourteenth scheduled race of the season.
