(1-28-2006) - Since the media cooperation with the media is minimal at best, this is the best we could do for results. This shot was from the results board.

Friday Report - Tutterow, Sexton, Jung and Wolf are Friday leaders

(1-28-2006) - Friday was a gorgeous afternoon in southern Florida, as the 2nd annual US Street Nationals got under way. The air temperature was hovering around 70 degrees under blue skies with a few fluffy clouds. A stiff wind from the east blew steadily across the track and kept the flags at attention all day.

Heavy Street was the first class to make qualifying runs. Near the end of the class one of the cars managed to contact the wall at the top end and managed to slow things for a bit.

The 10.5 class was next and was followed by Outlaw Pro Street in which Wade Gullett lost control and barrel rolled across the track and down the left guardrail before coming to rest outside the railing. Gullett was reported unconscious for a short time but later responded to emergency personnel and was alert when airlifted to the local hospital for observation. Gullet was released Saturday morning with a mild concussion and will reported return to the track later in the day.

In Outlaw Pro Street, Todd Tutterow had the best time of 6.477, 217.02. Drag Radial closed out the first day of qualifying.

Gullet suffers scary Bradenton crash

(1-28-2006) - A report as well as graphic proof comes to us that Pro 5.0 Mustang racer Wade Gullet was involved in a devastating crash during Friday time trials at Bradenton's street-legal drag event.

Racing in Pro Street Outlaw, Gullet experienced an apparent fluid leak around the eighth-mile. The fluid got under the right rear tire and caused him to lose control. He

then crossed over into the right lane behind Pat Musi, turning sharply to avoid the right wall and then barrell rolled across the track to collide with the left wall just past the emergency vehicle. Striking the wall launched Gullet very high into the air with pieces of the car reaching higher than 100 feet.

Gullet was air lifted to the local hospital for evaualtion. There is no word of his condition at this time

Click here for the full crash sequence.

UPDATE - According to a track official, Gullet was kept in the hospital overnight for observation and released this morning. Suffering from a mild concussion, Gullett reportedly will make an appearance at the track later today.
