Bar’s Leaks Top Koffel’s Place Engine Race Ladder Released for Summit Classic XXXII

(10-18-2005) -The Old Guard returned at Norwalk in Bar’s Leaks Top. Pick a Saturday, any Saturday and the standings in the Top category were constantly turning back and forth. Diana Murphy, Dick Cermak, Tim Buckley, Barney Barnhart, and John Boes took home event wins, with Boes capturing the Championship. But perhaps this proves the old guard isn’t really that old at all- and stands to reappear as the ones to beat in 2006.

Celebrating an incredible season in 2005, Norwalk Raceway Park is proud to release the ladder for Summit Classic XXXII’s Koffel’s Place Engine Race. The race will be run on Thursday, October 27, at 6:30PM.

Koffel’s Place is giving the winner of the Top sixteen runoff a $10,000 engine.

Tomorrow, Norwalk will release the ladder for the Splatt Modified runoff- winner receiving a $45,000 turnkey Race Tech Dragster.

Stop Leak Street Classic Trailer Trailerstakes Ladder Released for Summit Classic XXXII

(10-17-2005) - Classic Trailers is giving away a brand new enclosed trailer to the winner of the top sixteen runoff of the Stop Leak Street class from Norwalk Raceway Park. The race will be run Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00PM.

The competition in Street at Norwalk during the points chase was almost sewed up by Curt Valtman as he landed three event wins early, and took a slight lead on Dale Boyer. Valtman did not stay consistent however, and Boyer began his march to the championship with a big win at Night Under Fire.

The gloves are off, however, as it is anyone’s race to win the enclosed trailer. The Championship has been decided; this is for pride!

Early Indicators at Norwalk Point to the Largest Summit Classic in History-

(10-10-2005) - Be afraid, be very afraid.

For thirty-one years, racers from across the Midwest and Canada have closed their racing season at Norwalk Raceway Park, with the largest sportsmen race in the world. For the thirty second running of the Summit Classic, all early indicators point to a record-breaking event.

The previous high mark was set in 1998, during the 25th anniversary celebration, when the car count reached past 1600 cars. Bill Bader, Jr., reading the results of the pre-registrations after just ten days, was impressed.

“From the looks of what we have received so far, it could be the largest Summit Classic in history,” Bader said Saturday morning. “Racers joining us for 2005 will be part of the greatest spectacle in drag racing. The prizes are exciting, the payout astounding- we have left no stone unturned in making Summit Classic XXXII the highlight of the year.”

Torco Race Fuels Competition Plus.com signs on as Official Dot Com of Norwalk’s Summit Classic XXXII.

(10-1-2005) - Norwalk Raceway Park is proud to announce Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com as the official Dot Com of the Summit Classic XXXII, taking place at Norwalk October 25-30.

Bobby Bennett, founder and publisher of Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com, was thrilled with the new venture. “The Summit Classic is nothing short of the US Nationals for Bracket Racers,” Bennett said Thursday. “This is an incredible opportunity for us, and I am excited about working with Bill Bader, Jr. He runs a first class drag race operation and I am proud to be associated with Norwalk.”

Bill Bader, Jr. is thrilled with the new partnership with Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com. “Bobby Bennett publishes on the top tier in Motorsports news, and we are honored to have his participation at the Summit Classic. It is my intention to use this event as the springboard for a long term relationship with Bobby Bennett and Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com.”

Along with providing news and results, Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com will publish its popular “Pit Notes” section from the Classic. Bennett is particularly interested in the many stories that will be gleaned from the largest sportsman drag race in the world. “The Summit Classic is more than drag racing. There will be over 1500 racers there and each one has a story.”

Torco Race Fuels CompetitionPlus.com was founded in September of 1999. Since their inception, the popular e-zine has published over 100 issues, drawing between 1.5 and 2 million hits a day.
