WHO’S HOT & WHO’S HOTTER

By Cheryl Boone

Hi race fans, I want to tell you about Cheryl Sibert ... you can tell by her first name that she has to be a hottie. She runs the ET Shack at Silver Dollar Raceway in Warner Robbins, Georgia. She has been working at a race track since she was 15 years old.

Working in the ET Shack is not an easy job, there is more to it than you would think. It wasn't that long ago that Cheryl had to rely on her walkie-talkie to spout out the speed, time, lane, etc. for her to record on the time slip and then be sure to get all that information to the proper racer. Cheryl is very happy to have the current automated system. She also sells fuel. Cheryl is so good at her job that she won the John Biedenkapp Memorial Award in 1992 for outstanding contributions and support of the NHRA Southeast Division.

This is the highest award given to a non-racer. She and her best friend and co-worker, Linda Collins, have created a cozy shack to work in with as many comforts as they could squeeze into their home away from home. So guys, you should stop by her little ET Shack for a cold beverage, I hear the fridge is always chillin'. During the week she works for Macon State College's extension on Robins Air Force Base processing college admissions.

Saying ET Shack makes me want to sing the B-52's song, "Love Shack".... "The Love Shack is a little old place where we can get together Love Shack baby, Love Shack bay-bee!" Oh, sorry, I just couldn't help my self, what with Cheryl having that sexy southern drawl, and the B-52's are from Georgia, Cheryl's from Georgia...OK, hum the rest to yourself.

Anyway, back to Cheryl. She doesn't need a man that is full of himself or high maintenance. She wants a racer. Someone that has a Friday night date with his race car and can swing by her shack every now and then. Because Cheryl has a date on most weekends and holidays with a job she loves. She has also won the perfect attendance award for ten years without missing a race at Warner Robbins Dragway. I told you she loves her job. Now that is not to say that Cheryl can't get away from the shack every now and then for a little dinner and a slow dance, because she loves to get dressed up too. She says a pair of high heals are sexy. The first thing Cheryl looks at are a guys eyes, in fact, since most of you cruise past her shack wearing your helmet, that's about all she sees are your eyes. She likes to see the sparkle in a man's eye, as though he has a secret. Fellas, every now and then shed your helmet and give Cheryl a flash of those pearly whites.

She wants a guy who is confident but not someone full of himself. He can't be jealous, she works around a lot of men. A romantic gesture can go a long way with her (that means flowers every now and then). Miss Sibert would like a tall guy, she says six feet and up will suit her just fine. Cheryl doesn't need to go to the gym, she stays in shape by walking as much as thirteen miles in one weekend just tending to her duties on the job. I guess that is why people tell her she has a great looking legs. She loves Harleys and is ready to ride at a moment's notice, she has her own helmet, jacket and all other necessary gear to go riding.

Cheryl is 44, with no children, except her 90-pound Black Mouth Cur dog. Her dog is known to be a good judge of character, so you better make a good impression with Nala (the dog). Cheryl is five-foot five and a half with beautiful long brunette hair. She loves Southern rock music and she is very crafty. In fact, she carved the Silver Dollar logo into a watermelon for this past 4th of July. She also does crewel embroidery and makes all the costumes that she wears to the track on each holiday. That seems to be a tradition at the Silver Dollar Raceway. She likes to travel, but like I said earlier she did win the perfect attendance award, so she doesn't get to travel as much as she would like to. Usually when she does get away from the ET Shack, it is to attend another race. Racing is not just a job to her, she really enjoys it, especially the Alcohol dragsters and Super Gas. She really enjoys sneaking away from the shack to go to the starting line when the Alcohol dragsters run so she can feel the power of the race cars in her bones.

There is a lot more to this beautiful southern woman than I can squeeze into this article. So start your own interview, send it to etshackspecialist@yahoo.com.

So until next time I'll see you at the races. Remember that you may not see me but I will be looking for you.
