Edelbrock is now producing performance products for Chrysler Magnum
V8s, including heads and a manifold.
Performer RPM Chrysler Magnum Heads for 1992 & later 5.2L (318
c.i.d.) and 1993 & later 5.9L (360 c.i.d.) Chrysler Magnum V8s
offer substantial performance improvements for street/strip and
off-road performance use and are an easy bolt-on upgrade, right
out of the box. The heads feature 180cc intake ports and 75cc exhaust
ports with 58cc combustion chambers, yielding a slight increase
in compression over the factory heads. They are available bare (#61779)
or complete and assembled with high quality components like stainless
steel 2.02” intake and 1.60” exhaust valves, seals,
springs and retainers (#61779). These heads offer more flow than
stock and will accept either adjustable aftermarket rocker arms
or stock Magnum valve train parts. All Edelbrock heads are sold

Stock Magnum intake and exhaust port locations make these heads
an ideal choice for use with Edelbrock’s new RPM Air-Gap manifold.
This new manifold, #7577, allows the use of a carburetor on these
originally fuel-injected engines, making them the perfect upgrade

Hypertech Power Tuning Puts More Venom in 2003 Mustang Cobra
(2-5-2004) - Ford's Mustang Cobra becomes an even
more potent performance car with Hypertech Power Tuning. Hypertech's
new Power Programmer™ #41027 for 2003 Cobras contains three
dyno-developed and road-tested Power Tuning programs that boost
the output of Ford's supercharged V8 by up to 88 horsepower and
105 ft.-lbs. of torque (depending on application).
Hypertech engineers worked with Ford performance enthusiasts to
develop all-new Power Tuning programs for the Cobra. Extensive testing
revealed that a single Power Tuning program could not maximize the
performance of the supercharged Mustang. That's because aftermarket
overdrive pulleys for the factory-installed supercharger are a popular
modification made by Cobra owners. Hypertech's research and development
team knew that is was essential to match the optimized fuel and
spark curves to the increased airflow and higher manifold pressure

The Power Programmer for 2003 Cobras contains the software for
all three Power Tuning programs. This allows a Cobra driver to select
the Power Tuning program that perfectly matches the supercharger
pulley to maximize power while preventing harmful detonation. If
the pulley diameter is subsequently changed, the Power Programmer
can easily reprogram the onboard computer to accommodate the new
pulley diameter.
Hypertech's Power Programmer is a self-contained automotive computer
that gives Cobra owners the power to change other operating parameters.
For example, the engine rpm limiter can be adjusted in precise 100
rpm increments to extend the engine's operating range for faster
acceleration. The top speed limiter can be raised to match the speed
rating of factory-approved high-performance tires. The on/off temperature
of the electric cooling fans can be adjusted for 160-degree and
180-degree thermostat to increase power and prevent engine-damaging
detonation. Cobra enthusiasts who have installed non-stock tires
or rearend gears with ratios from 2.73:1 to 4.56:1 can use the Power
Programmer to correct the speedometer and odometer readings (as
required by law). Also, the Power Programmer has the ability to

information on the vehicle's operation without purchasing expensive

by a high horsepower motor under hard acceleration. Most factory
gas tank pickups are located in the front portion of the tank, allowing
the fuel pump to ingest air during acceleration. This can cause
a momentary loss of fuel pressure which can be enough to make you
lose a race. You can eliminate this problem by installing one of

REVOLUTIONARY COMPOSITE-BEARING SHAFT-MOUNT ROCKERS FROM CRANE

has unveiled the new Sportsman Series shaft-mount rocker arm system
featuring Poly-Matrix composite bearings. It has been dyno-proven
to provide up to 20 more horsepower than other shaft-mount systems
-and even more significant gains compared to conventional stud-mounted
setups.
A key factor in their increased efficiency is using the composite
bearing -which eliminates the constant inertia reversal with each
cycle and high unit loading common to needle bearings. Moreover,
because the rocker arms swing back and forth in a relatively small
arc the needle bearings can wear unevely and "flat spot"
-causing even more power loss.
Crane engineers have also incorporated Quick-Lift™ rocker
arm geometry (multi-ratio) into the system, which accelerates valve
events and helps improve the power curve.
What's more, a special alloy has been developed for Crane by Reynolds
Aluminum. It is metallurgically engineered to maintain its strength
at the elevated temperatures (+200-300°F) where rocker arms
typically operate, as opposed to "aircraft" alloys designed
for sub-zero flight conditions. With up to 60% greater strength,
they have increased resistance to deflection -even when high-load
value springs are used.
Use of the composite bearing has also enabled Crane engineers to
significantly increase the shaft cross-section area (100% more than
the competition), which improves high RPM stability. The shaft is
also micro-polished to reduce friction.
The rocker arms are CNC-machined to reduce weight, as are the mounting
stands. There's not a more efficient or cost-effective shaft rocker
arm system on the market today!

NOS Automatic Pressure Tranducer Bottle Heater
(1-21-2003) - Nitrous Oxide Systems is announcing
the availability of their Automatic Bottle Heater, P/N 14169NOS.
NOS bottle heaters are designed to prevent the potential rich fuel
condition associated with a cool bottle, which leads to a loss in
engine power and inconsistent performance.
The NOS automatic bottle heater regulates the bottle pressure by
using a pressure transducer and heater element. The pressure transducer
turns the heater element on when pressure drops below the preset
pressure setting warming the bottle. Once the bottle returns to
the preset pressure it shuts the heater off.
The automatic bottle heater works with both 10 lb. and 15 lb. bottles.
The transducer will fit all NOS bottle valves with a gauge port
or a 4AN nitrous line using supplied fittings. The bottle heater
